I think your overview is pretty accurate in my opinion.
This day and age it is getting harder to tell the difference between the bad guys and the good guys. Of course the really bad guys are easy to spot due to their actions.
It boils down to this for me. Watch what they do, not what they say, plus looking at their track record can speak for itself.
