If you were to ask the average American what HIPPA does, they’d tell you it protects your medical records and keeps them private. The reality is that this couldn’t be further from the truth.
The entire system is setup to take away your medical freedom and allowing the government, Big Pharma and health insurance companies to dictate what kind of medical care you receive. This is antithetical to medical freedom, and we need to fight back to protect our rights.
The centralization of power within the United States Government is deeply concerning. We no longer have individual liberties and privacy rights that are supposed to be protected by the Constitution when they are surveilling us even when we go to the doctor. Our healthcare decisions are supposed to be made between us and our doctor without interference from the government.
Twila Brase, the president and co-founder of Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom, joins this episode of The Jeff Dornik Show to break down this overreach by the government and whether there’s anything we can do about it. Ms Brase is the author of the book Big Brother in the Exam Room: The Dangerous Truth About Electronic Health Records and has been named by Modern Healthcare as #75 on their 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare.
She provides the solutions that we can implement on a state-by-state basis to protect our medical freedom from the overreaching power of the government, Big Pharma and corporate interests.

Jeff/Trila are totally correct. I had occasion to learn how little regard for the privacy of my medical records my physicians actually had i.e. zero. A law firm collected everything on me from stupid staff of several providers responding to a paper they created themselves. I was outraged but they didn't even admit any error. Since CV, any state agency claims the right to nose around in one's personal medical records - for reasons of public health according to them. Special non-disclosure restriction letters must be filed with each provider in order to get their attention - HIPAA is totally worthless on its own.
Ummm... you mean "HIPAA"?
