The Evangelical Elite’s Secret Plan to Push Progressive Politics
How did we go from a conservative base that was patriotic to one that hates America and is now progressive?
The Evangelical Elite have changed the face of Christianity over the past few years. Woke Christianity has be on the rise over the years, starting back in the hippie days of the 1970s, moving forward into the seeker-sensitive movement in the 1990s, and into the Emergent Church movement during the 2000s, before finally taking over Evangelicalism as a whole today. As you can see, this has been progressively in the works for decades.
Today, we see a mainstream Evangelicalism that promotes virtually all of the talking points of the progressive Democrats: racial reparations, climate change, systemic racism, universal basic income, illegal immigration, feminism... and the list goes on and on. If you were to listen to the talking points coming out of leading organizations like The Gospel Coalition and the Southern Baptist Convention, you would think you were hearing from Bernie Sanders or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. How did we go from a conservative base that was patriotic to one that hates America and is now progressive? That’s exactly the point of this book.

Our previous book, Social Injustice: Exposing the False Gospel of the Social Justice Movement, focused primarily on how the Social Justice movement is the most dangerous threat to the Gospel in our lifetime. Through subtle changes in doctrine and redefinitions of theological terminology, they were able to infiltrate even the most conservative churches and institutions with little to no resistance.
One of the reasons these subtle, yet heretical, teachings were able to creep in unnoticed is that the majority of the church was distracted with going after what I call the “low-hanging fruit.” While everyone was focused on condemning known heretics like Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn as well as the extreme Word of Faith and Prosperity Gospel movements, none of the mainstream evangelical leaders put up any resistance to the dangerous doctrines of the Social Justice Movement.
Often the leading discernment ministries spend all their time going after the obvious false teachers. Now, I want to be clear: All false teachers need to be exposed and confronted. There’s nothing wrong with exposing Benny Hinn or Joel Osteen for their false Gospel which is rampant throughout their branch of Christianity. Their audience is a mission field because their false Gospel is leading them away from Biblical Christianity. However, it doesn’t take much discernment to tell they are wolves in sheep’s clothing. Charles Spurgeon has a famous quote explaining what true Biblical discernment is:
Discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. It is knowing the difference between right and almost right.

So, while the majority of prominent discernment ministries continually gain a following and raise money off of posturing with epic takedowns of the most famous heretics known to mankind, their focus on the low-hanging fruit has kept much of the church preoccupied and opened the door for an even more dangerous threat that has now taken hold within the church and is not going to leave without a fight!
Often times, I’ll get asked why I spend so much time critiquing and criticizing the teachings from the supposed good guys, as opposed to going after the clear-cut heretics. I always respond with: Anyone with a Bible and a brain knows that those guys are false teachers! What makes the not-so-obvious error dangerous is that even many of the most discerning Christians will not realize a subtle shift in their doctrine.
The Social Justice movement was the strategy the leftists used to get their foot in the door of the most trusted leaders of the Evangelical Church. It was actually quite easy, since they hid their dangerous false teachings behind Scriptural language and Bible verses. For example, conservative Christians have traditionally opposed illegal immigration for a wide variety of reasons, including the belief that people should obey the law, do things legally and ensure the safety of not only Americans, but the immigrants themselves. The way these Social Justice Warriors frame it, however, is rooted in flowery Biblical language, claiming that Jesus was an immigrant when his family fled to Egypt, or they’ll cite Leviticus 19:33-34, which states:
When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

None of these examples have anything to do with illegal immigration. Does that stop these Social Justice Warriors from pushing a warped interpretation of God’s Word? Absolutely not! This is just one example of their strategy which subtly blends truth and error together, making it difficult for many to realize that error is creeping into their churches.
This blending together of truth and error is not limited to just political or social issues; it’s even occurring with something as important and vital as the Gospel itself. In Social Injustice, my good friend, Pastor Sam Jones, went into great detail about how the Social Justice movement is compromising the Gospel. They are doing this through a redefinition of sin, which changes its meaning from breaking God’s commands to oppression. The Gospel is about Christ saving us from the wrath of God because of our own sin against Him, as opposed to the Social Justice Gospel where Jesus is saving us from oppression. Within the Social Justice Gospel, we are being oppressed by others. Within the one true Gospel, we are the oppressors, with the ultimate injustice being directed towards Christ dying on the cross for sins He did not commit.
When you change the definition of sin, you ultimately change the Gospel. This dangerous heresy has crept in virtually unnoticed, taking cover behind Christian language while using familiar theological terms. When you have a Gospel that preaches a false understanding of sin and a false understanding of what Christ saves us from, you now have a completely false Gospel. If someone believes in this false Social Justice Gospel, they have not placed their faith in the one true Gospel that provides salvation to those who believe. There is no almost when it comes to salvation. It’s either the Gospel, or it’s not. Anything short of the one true Gospel is no Gospel at all. This is the danger of the social justice movement.
